Abigail kicks off as a rather typical heist film. The mysterious Giancarlo Esposito sends a group of criminals to abduct the young ballerina and keep her in a large, eerie mansion overnight. Unaware of her identity, they are confident that her wealthy father will pay $50 million for her safe return. Each member of the team, using Rat Pack-inspired aliases like "Frank" for Dan Stevens, "Dean" for Angus Cloud, and "Sammy" for Kathryn Newton, knows little about one another. As Joey engages in conversation with Abigail, suspicions arise that they have fallen into a carefully laid trap.
