Today's superhuman is Zoe Simmons from Canberra.
Zoe lives with bipolar and extreme anxiety her whole life and it impacted me severely—but she still worked my butt off, topped classes in high school and university, and have a pretty decent writing business she now runs.
However, a few years ago, Zoe started experiencing extreme chronic pain, suspected endometriosis and had multiple surgeries, scans, tests and countless appointments that are yet to find the cause. She has lived with extreme pain, extreme brain fog and fatigue most of the time. It’s been hard coming to terms with her disability.
She has since written articles, worked for big corporations in comms, and her work has been published worldwide. Zoe is currently writing a book about her survival in the Black Summer bushfires of 2019/2020. She helps others as much as she can; that’s why she writes—because words can help make the world a better place. Through her writing, she give voices to the voiceless, helps take down wrongdoers, educate people, brighten their day, and have helped raised a little over $50k.
