As a labor and delivery nurse my job is to bring life into this world the majority of the time. I get the joy and privilege of assisting women in becoming mothers, men become fathers, and children become siblings.

In the rare instance of a loss, my job is to grieve with people over the loss of a child. It’s a debilitating sadness and grief to walk through with a woman and/or couple that experiences that loss.

With that in context and no mention of my personal world views or ideology as a Christian. It has always been an ethical dilemma for me that abortions are allowed in our country for people that simply don’t want a child, are inconvenienced, or receive a “possible” diagnoses of down syndrome.
