The CDC released its most recent U.S. Abortion Surveillance report, detailing abortion data from 2018.  New York remains the abortion capital of the country and “…the total number of reported U.S. abortions…increased 1%…” in 2018. A total of 614,820 babies were aborted, black babies being aborted at a rate five times greater than white babies.

Even  with this 1% increase in 2018, there has been a general downward trend with a 22% decrease in the total number of abortions over the previous nine years. However, a gathering storm appears on the statistical horizon with the revelation of a sweeping trend away from surgical abortion to dangerous at-home, chemical abortion. Despite FDA warnings of increased risk, the past nine years reveal a 120% rise in chemical abortion, now representing nearly 38% of all abortions.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, “The test of the morality of a society is what it does for its children.” What do these abortion data portend for America?
