Fungal Disease Attacks ʻŌhiʻa Trees. The host for this show is Grace Chen O'Neil. The guests are Ambyr Miyake and Robert Hauff.
Ambyr Miyake and Robert Hauff tell us about Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death, a fungal disease attacking and killing Hawaiʻi's native ʻŌhiʻa trees. ʻŌhiʻa trees make up approximately 80% of Hawaii's endemic forests. The fungus (Ceratocystis fimbriata) was identified on Hawaiʻi Island in 2014. She tells us about how to identify trees affected by this fungus and how we can stop the spread of this disease that is killing our ʻŌhiʻa trees.
