Genesis chapter 20 tells the story of Abraham travelling through a city, and telling the inhabitants that his wife was his sister, because he was afraid that they would kill him in order to have his wife. Although what he said was partially true, because him and his wife were half siblings, there was consequences for Abraham's deception. From this story we can learn the importance of complete honesty, how we should overcome our fears through faith, and our need for God's mercy.
