After a brief delay to celebrate our moms, the ABXY Cast returns to discuss video games and the latest MCU film, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. This week we're joined by Tylor's roommate, Austin! More video game developers get embraced by consolidation, Fortnite comes back to the iPhone and Xbox games stopped working for some players. But who are we kidding: we really just want to talk about the latest Doctor Strange movie. All this and more on the latest ABXY Cast!
Please note: while we give a few non-spoiler takes during the opening segments of the podcast, we do fully indulge spoilers from 1:45:00 to 2:41:30. If you'd like to avoid spoilers, please skip this section of the podcast or go see the movie before listening! We highly recommend coming back and listening to this section after you've seen the movie because we have some fun takes and funny moments!
After a painful (for Tylor, at least) week off, the team returns for another episode of the ABXY Cast. We didn't get much time to play games, so we dispense with the normal what we've been playing and instead talk blue crystal and wizards before diving into two weeks worth of news. Virtual pets, new Kingdom Hearts, ads in your free to play games, and we discover the actual financial cost of sexual harassment in the workplace. Plus we actually have multiple listener questions to answer, although we we're briefly thwarted by technical glitches. All that and more on the this week's ABXY Cast!
Another week, another podcast. While Ariel is on vacation, Chase and Tylor discuss the latest entry in the Borderlands franchise: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Does the D&D-inspired spin on the Borderlands formula live up to the heights of the franchises past? Or does it share company with the likes of the Pre-Sequel (shudders). On the news front, PlayStation finally reveals what we've all been expecting: three new PlayStation Plus tiers and the phasing out of PlayStation Now. Is it a good deal? Or does Microsoft still have the upper hand in game streaming services... or both? Games get delayed, E3 gets cancelled and one of Chase's most anticipated games enters development hell. All that and more (plus a listener question!) on this week's episode of the ABXY Cast!
It's low energy PlayStation central on this week's ABXY Cast. The crew gets back together on another late Sunday night to discuss the latest in the world of video games. Tylor discovers a new game he loves, and it turns out to be a Souls-like: Tunic. Chase played more NBA 2K in honor of March Madness and Ariel played more Sims, only to discover the dark underbelly of the Sims community. Will she keep playing after learning the horrors people unleash on their pet Sims? On the news side of the podcast, PlayStation acquires more studios, tries to un-screw Gran Turismo and may launch their Game Pass competitor in the coming weeks. Multiple game consoles get updates, Snoop Dogg comes to Call of Duty, Fortnite nixes building and a steady listener breaks news. All this and more on this week's ABXY Cast.
The ABXY Cast returns, groggy and unfocused after one hell of a time change. After a long discussion about Monopoly (the board game, not Microsoft buying Activision), we manage to find some time to talk about the latest video game news. Gran Turismo 7 shit its pants, Hogwarts Legacy finally shows off gameplay, Microsoft brings the Xbox SSD secret sauce to PC and claims to have improved Xbox Cloud Gaming on iOS. Meanwhile Google says Steam is coming (soon) to ChromeOS and EA cancels EA Play. E3 is probably next. All that and plenty of sleep deprived tangents on the latest episode of the ABXY Cast!
It's a new week and that means it's time for another installment of the ABXY Cast, this time with a brand new voice: Ariel.
We talk about the ups and downs of two back-to-back nights of Mario Party, Tylor's continued crawling through the wide - possibly too wide - world of Horizon: Forbidden West, Ariel's history with real video games and Chase's continued quest to get all the achievements in 7 Days to Die, fun be damned! In the news, PlayStation joins the growing list of companies pulling out (hehe) of Russia, Halo Infinite's co-op is delayed AGAIN, Valve fixes Elden Ring on SteamOS, and Blizzard is still working on bringing out Overwatch 2 - and a beta is coming this April. Boy do we have a lot to say about that "sequel."
All this and more on this week's episode of the ABXY Cast!
It's #SockO'clock on this week's ABXY Cast. Chase goes to Texas, Tylor splits his time between the Forbidden West and the lonely world of Hyrule, and the video game industry backs Ukraine in the ongoing conflict. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet get announced and we're introduced to three new, totally adorable starters. OMG They're so cute!!! Amazon's streaming service comes out of beta while Bungie goes all in on being anti-Steam Deck, while Valve hints at a future Steam/Xbox Game Pass partnership. All that and more on the latest episode of the ABXY Cast!
Video game news gets sidelined by real world events, but that doesn't mean we have nothing to talk about. Tylor takes his first steps into the Forbidden West and Chase goes zombie hunting after giving up on Tarkov. Call of Duty may stop deploying annually, PSVR2 looks like a VR headset (who would've guessed) and EA may actually be breaking up with FIFA. And listeners ask: Steam Deck or Switch, toilet device of choice? All that and more on this weeks shorter episode of the ABXY Cast!
Note: We are posting resources where our listeners can help support relief efforts for the people of Ukraine on the official ABXY Cast Twitter account. If you are interested in providing support, please check our socials for links to various organizations!
