A man and a woman sat side by side in uncomfortable chairs, the smell of antiseptic a heady aroma in the air as the beeping of electronics, squeaking of mobile beds and the steady drone of far off chatter washed over them. The man was looking down, not just his head but his whole body, as if he were bowing under some great weight. A nondescript baseball cap obscured his face from the fluorescent lights above. His right hand was held in the left of the woman beside him, who sat with both feet curled under her. She stroked his captive fingers with the hand that did not hold his. She looked concerned and thoughtful. Suddenly the couple heard the sound of shuffling feet on linoleum coming towards them, and a moment later a doctor in a white lab coat appeared before them with a clipboard in his hand. “What’s the news doc?” asked the man, “Yeah give it to us straight doctor” said the woman. The doctor looked at each of them and swallowed before saying, “Well, as you know your penis evaluations have come in: length, girth…and.” The Doctor shook his head and took a deep breath, “Smallest they’ve ever seen, nearly microscopic.” As the doctor said this the man threw arms as wide as his eyes had become and he made an exultant sound in chorus with the woman. The couple kissed and hugged, and through their jubilee the doctor continued with a smiling face, “Congratulations son, you’re going to make a fine Police Officer”
