Welcome!  It’s my hope that AcaGeekz will introduce the casual listener and the hardcore a cappella fan alike to some groups and styles they’ve never heard before.  Whether it be Barbershop, collegiate, doo wop, high school, choral, jazz, funk, pop, rock, or classical, there’s something for everyone!

This episode is to celebrate National Novel Writing Month.  In November, countless people try to write a 50,000 word novel in just 30 days.  To help inspire the aspiring writer, this half episode has a little fun with songs about words, writing, and books.

If you are interested in writing, I highly recommend a podcast called Writing Excuses:Fifteen minutes long because you’re in a hurry, and we’re not that smart.  It features Brandon Sanderson, Dan Wells, Mary Robinette Kowal, and Howard Tayler.  Season 10 is a great jumping in point as throughout the season, they walk you through crafting a story from idea generation to submitting to Editors and Agents!
