Carmela obtained her Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering from UP Diliman in 2016 before pursuing a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, a public research university in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. She has stayed in the US after graduating as a Filipina international student. She is now working in an American multinational corporation as an electronics and control engineer.
