Is St. Mary’s just a better parish?

Have you heard Christ’s invitation and his instructions? Are you willing to be formed, to be set on fire and then set loose? As a parish, as a people, have we allowed the invitation of this parish and Christ to be emptied of its meaning so that this parish has become nothing more than a comforting place to be?

Why do you come to Mass at St. Mary’s?

In today’s homily I ask some very difficult questions that may seem blunt. The intention is to challenge and then to support. I will joke in this homily that I am not your therapist (who, by the way, are fantastic and healthy resources we should all seek out when we need them!) but know that I am still here to help. I don’t know much, but what I do have and what I do know, I will offer and that is my relationship with Christ. It is my prayer that you’ll here more than a challenge in this homily – you’ll hear an invitation and some instructions.
