Topic: ACCESSING GOD'S HOLY PLACE!
Memory Verse: "He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation" - Psalm 24:5 KJV
Bible Text: Psalm 24:3-4 KJV
3. Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who shall stand in his holy place?
4. He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; Who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
INSPIRATION: Most believers today would rather want to enjoy God's blessings instead of seeking God's presence. But there's a huge difference and great benefits when you cultivate real value for God's presence. The Psalmist describes the character traits of anyone who should ascend God's presence (Ps. 24: 3 - 4). You've got to have a pure heart to access God and all of His glory; you've got to have a clean spirit, and these are not subject to what you think of yourself.
God says to Samuel, "Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart" (1 Sam. 16: 7). So when you approach God's presence, He's looking out for the content of your heart. Whilst man can be deceitful, he can't try anything funny with God (Jere. 17: 9 - 10). God would respond to you according to the content of your heart.
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
There're glories in God's holy place that should interest and drive you to seek His presence more than ever before.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, please draw me closer to You with Your everlasting love; help me to know the glory, beauty and power of Your presence. Teach me to prioritize developing character traits that make access to Your presence easy as I seek You with all of my heart, in Jesus name.
