This week, Rachael speaks to Aimee, an Account Director at MMC, a digital creative agency set in the North East of England, working with clients from all over the world. After spending a few years down in London working for TK Maxx in the internal comms team, Aimee wanted to return to her roots and move back much closer to home and give agency life a go. Aimee shares her experience of navigating the agency world and we break through some of the common conceptions made about working in agencies such as it’s not all about marketing to end consumers and it is totally possible to have a successful commercial career and not need to be based down in London. We touch on the differences of agency life vs working in house, the important skills to do a good job and the lessons Aimee learnt from her previous roles. Aimee has an infectious personality and you can clearly tell just from speaking to her why she loves her job managing relationships with their clients so that she can paid to chat to her clients and colleagues for up to 5 out of 8 hours of the day.
