Responsibility is the obligation to do something, while accountability is accepting the consequences of one's actions or decisions related to that responsibility. Responsibility is a duty, while accountability is the obligation to answer for the outcome of fulfilling that duty. Accountability is often seen as a higher level of responsibility, as it involves taking ownership and being answerable for the results of one's actions. I like to think of the two, responsibility and accountability, like a coin. They have two different sides but one cannot be without the other. Listen in for a deeper dive into accountability. This podcast is part of my new book, "Are you leading?", coming in August 2023.
