Ace of Cups

Ace of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

  • The Ace of Cups as an invitation into love, compassion, and creative flow

  • Symbolism across decks: overflowing vessels, compassion, water imagery, and cupped hands

  • How this card represents the start of an emotional or spiritual opening

  • The beauty of emotional honesty and the sacredness of receiving

  • Why vulnerability can be a strength, not a weakness

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

  • Anima Mundi Tarot Deck by Megan Wyreweden

  • The Desert Illuminations Tarot by Lindsay D. Williams

  • The Sasuraibito Tarot deck by Stasia Burrington

In this episode, we begin our exploration of the Suit of Cups with the Ace, a card that radiates love in all its forms. Whether it’s romantic, spiritual, platonic, or creative, this card signals a powerful heart-opening. It’s not always comfortable to feel this much, but it is sacred. The Ace of Cups reminds us that we are not meant to hold everything in. We are meant to feel deeply, connect authentically, and let love flow through us like water returning to the sea.

This card is especially potent if you’ve been emotionally blocked, burned out, or disconnected from yourself. It asks: What if opening your heart is the bravest thing you could do right now?

Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Enchanter (upright). This card sparkles with flair, mystery, and theatrical charm. The Enchanter knows how to cast a spell—how to win over a crowd, or even themselves, through clever illusion.

When paired with the Ace of Cups, this card invites us to reflect on authenticity. Are you being genuine with your feelings, or slipping into emotional performance? Have you been masking pain behind charm or playing a role instead of showing up vulnerably?

The Enchanter reminds us that magic is real, but it doesn’t have to be fake. It can come from truth. From presence. From the courage to feel.

Reflective prompts on this card:

  • Where am I hiding my true feelings behind a polished exterior?

  • What would it look like to enchant others with my sincerity instead of a mask?

  • How can I honor both the performer in me and the part of me that longs to be seen?
