I tried counting all the bones inside my body, every root set deep into the soil of my being, but I saw a cool bug I hadn't seen before and promptly forgot all about counting my bones. There's layers to soil, to dirt, to the earth - like a tree ring. More localized than the layers of like crust and mole people kingdoms. They call them horizons - I suppose suns set within the dirt too. I have forgotten about my bones; I float through the horizons of the soil which makes me, each particle singing something beautifully raw and fractured and whole: Humus. Organic. Topsoil. Eluviated. Subsoil. Parent Material. Bedrock. Listen with me, please, and maybe we'll remember to count our own bones, while the soil sings to us of setting suns covered in dirt.
