Welcome to our first episode! This week's interviewee is Marana, a UCSD student who has had 8 surgeries to treat her cleft lip and cleft palate, which is a facial deformity that she was born with. In our interview, Marana talked about the challenges she faced when recovering from the surgeries, how she overcame insecurities about her appearance, and what she hopes you will take away from her experience.
