WoW Classic released Monday night and over one million people were watching the game on Twitch at one point. As a result, when the stock market opened on Tuesday morning, Activision Blizzard climbed 6% on a day when most companies were in the red.
This is big for Activision Blizzard especially as they enter 2020, the beginning of the move to regionalized esports. Having WoW Classic prove popular will give them another source of revenue to invest back into their esports scenes.
