In 2019, Yao led in the Chinese films BACK TO YOUTH and INTO THE DARKNESS for Guangzhou WeiXiao Films. She also played the lead in the award-winning feature FATHER AND HERO from Huaxia Films, which premiered at the Shanghai International Film Festival and won the New Zealand’s Asia Pacific Film Festival “Best New Actor” Award for her role as ‘Wei Wei.’
