THE DISCIPLE LIFE

Acts 1:23-26, A Verse-by-Verse Journey

Listen Later

In this episode, we close out Acts Chapter 1 and explore what it means to be faithful in the waiting — even when you’re not chosen for the spotlight.

Two men stand ready to replace Judas: Joseph (Barsabbas, Justus) and Matthias. Both were qualified. Both had walked with Jesus. But only one was chosen. What does this teach us? That God sees the heart, not the hype — and that faithfulness matters, even if man never recognizes it.

We’ll also take a sobering look at Judas: called, gifted, and numbered — yet he fell by transgression and went to “his own place.” Ministry is a calling, not a possession. When we fall, the mission doesn’t stop — God will raise someone else up to carry what we forfeited.

💡 Key insights include:

• Why obedience and unity come before the outpouring

• How the early Church made Spirit-led decisions

• What it means to build an altar before the fire falls

• Why Matthias being “numbered with the eleven” fulfilled more than just a vacancy — it completed divine order

🔥 This is the final moment before Pentecost. The stage is set. The number is restored. The people are waiting in one accord. The next chapter isn’t just a story — it’s an invitation.

👉 Are you ready for what comes next?
