What is the meaning of life?  What is the purpose for our being here?  Some invest their lives in the pursuit of goodness, money, or power.  But, as the old hymn says, "On Christ, the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand."

While Paul was in Philippi preaching Christ, a number of its citizens have their lives meanings slip away, like the ground falling away from under your feet in a landslide.
