This week we hear about Paul and Silas being beaten and thrown in prison. In the middle of the night while worshipping and singing to God there is an earthquake and the doors of the prison are opened. That night Paul and Silas save the Philippian jailer and his family.

This is a beautiful story of hope, rescue, forgiveness and love. The same Gospel from that night is available to us and provides us with the same hope, rescue, forgiveness and love. Do you stay focused on your purpose as a Christian like Paul and Silas stayed focused? Do you show mercy to those around you regardless of your circumstances or the cost to you?
