Seven Chosen to Serve18th in a series from the Book of Acts - Acts 6:1-6 recorded in my home studio Citrus Heights, California. The widows being neglected was the cause for the Apostles to have the disciples choose 7 men to appoint over the business of the practical needs of the Church. Although not actually called deacons most believe this is the first mention of this office. The Apostles wisely saw the need to pay attention to the most important task of leadership; and that was the seeking of the Lord through prayers and ministry of the Word. We looked at the qualifications of the deacons and the practice of laying on of hands.
