* We are called to be the Light of the world.

* Candle / Coal

* Backstory - The church was growing big and fast, and the apostles had to delegate some of the more menial tasks to others.

* One of those tasks was working at the money tables where poor people would come to receive support.

* Stephen was one of the men chosen for the job.

* He wasn’t the appointed “pastor or evangelist,” he was a normal worker - just like you and me.

* But he was of a different spirit.

* Something was burning inside him and he couldn’t keep it in.

* How did his light come out?

* Vs 8-15 - the winds of culture began to blow.

* When opposition came his way his light got brighter.

* He GLOWED - he was revealed on the outside for what was on the inside.

* Don’t think the “vocational ministers” are the only ones who should study the Scripture.

* You can and should do it too.

* Then you can be a voice of truth in your place of work or wherever you are.

* So the question is, are you a candle or a coal?
