In Acts 7, as the high priest and the Sanhedrin are questioning Stephen, a man living radically on fire for Jesus and faithful to His great glory, Stephen spoke by the power of the Spirit within him. His faith literally glowed like an angel's because of his radical faith and witness of Jesus. He lived wholeheartedly for Jesus and in witness to Him, glorifying Jesus - even until his last exhale. Stephen focused on God and His presence and power. The religious leaders had missed it. They were focused on the land, the law, and the Temple. The law, the land, and the Temple pointed to Jesus and His glorious presence - and they missed it. Heaven isn't going to be amazing because it's not Hell. Heaven is going to be gloriously amazing because we will be present with Jesus, in His presence - for eternity. The thing is, we miss it. We look at all the cows - the idols - of life, and let them distract us from the presence of the Lord. He wants to be present with us right now, AND for eternity - but we miss it. Don't let the golden cows of this temporary world get in the way of the presence of the Lord in our lives. Trust Him with every outcome, worship Him with every cell within, and pursue Him with everything in us. Have the kind of radical faith that causes Jesus to stand at the Father's right hand knowing we have nothing to lose and everything to gain in Jesus.
