Jesus’ instruction to the early church was not simply to make Christian converts, but devoted disciples and followers. This often involves helping seekers learn the scriptures which lead them to Jesus, as well as water baptism. Philip’s story reminds us what it means to fully embrace and embody the Great Commission.
