Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has sent a letter to the athletic directors at NMSU and UNM asking them not to play fall contact sports. That would mean the cancellation of the Aggies' football and soccer seasons.

The letter is a request, the NCAA is the sanctioning body for the university’s events. Las Cruces Today will post updates to this story later today, including a conversation with Mario Moccia, NMSU Athletics Director.
