All people have responsibilities, things that they need to do or take care of.  In God’s plan, if you fail to meet your responsibilities, then you will be held accountable.  You are the one to blame and must suffer the consequences of your actions yourself.  This is “accountability”.  Adam’s responsibility was to care for the garden and obey God.  Instead, Adam chose to disobey God and as such, was held accountable for his actions.
