Addis Ken – አዲስ ቀን (“New Day” in Amharic) – is the name of a unique musical project from international composer, vocalist and sax player Abate Berihun. A prolific saxophonist, composer and vocalist, Berihun is one of Israel’s most prominent Ethiopian musicians, who has toured and collaborated with musical giants such as Mulatu Astatke, Mahmoud Ahmed and Gigi, and is the founder and leader of influential afro-jazz and ethnic ensembles “Tezeta”, “Ras Dashen” and “Kuluma”. They performed at Yellow Submarine on January 5.
