In this episode, Nick Chmielewski and guest Bill Schueler, MSN, RN, CEN, CPPS, WVTS, FAEN, discuss addressing workplace violence. Mr. Schueler is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety, a Certified Workplace Violence & Threat Specialist, and a fellow in the Academy of Emergency Nursing. He coauthored the chapter "Violence in the Emergency Department" in Strauss and Mayer's Emergency Department Management (second edition). He also has authored chapters in Sheehy's Emergency Nursing: Principles and Practice (seventh edition) and the upcoming eighth edition of Sheehy's Manual of Emergency Care. Mr. Schueler has presented on workplace violence at national conferences, including the Emergency Nurses Association's annual conference and NTI. He is active in workplace violence public policy initiatives in Oregon and nationally.
