0:02:54 Success and Life-Changing Experience After Knee Replacement Surgery
In this podcast, we introduce our special guest, Adele, who shares her experience with knee replacement surgery. Adele admits to initially being afraid of the surgery and trying various methods to avoid it, such as braces, special shoe inserts, and alternative treatments. However, the pain and deterioration of her quality of life eventually led her to undergo the surgery. Adele emphasizes the importance of selecting a surgeon who provides an X10 machine for at-home rehabilitation, which she found beneficial and convenient. She shares that she had both knees replaced within four months and had a positive experience with the surgery.
Adele reflects on her initial fears and the significant impact the surgery has had on her life, including improved mobility and the ability to enjoy activities she couldn’t before. She expresses relief at making the decision and regrets waiting so long. Overall, Adele describes the surgery as life-changing and highlights the positive impact it has had on her daily life.
So, it just shows you that the surgery was truly life-changing for me. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was a night and day difference. I am incredibly grateful to my surgeon and his team for giving me my life back. The pain I was experiencing was affecting me every time I moved, and it took a toll on my mental state over time. It’s so important to live life fully, and I’m grateful to have had a surgeon who took the time to answer all my questions and provide a detailed explanation of the benefits of manual surgery over robotic surgery.
I also appreciate that my surgeon was an early adopter of the X10 recovery machine, which I found to be incredibly beneficial. Having a great surgeon and a great recovery plan are crucial for a successful recovery. My X10 machine was delivered to me two days prior to the surgery, and I received thorough instructions on how to use it. I have to say, the effectiveness and promptness of the X10 team in delivering on their promises was impressive.
I had a positive experience with the X10 home health team as well. They greeted me shortly after my surgery, and being able to exercise at home three times a day with the X10 machine was incredibly convenient. I consider using the X10 machine and regaining mobility as my primary job during the initial weeks of recovery. I was able to track my progress and enjoyed seeing improvements. My X10 coach had to slow me down because I was eager to go faster than recommended. Tracking my own progress felt good, and doing the exercises three times a day was key.
By the end of the first week, I was walking independently without a walker or cane. By the end of two and a half weeks, I was driving. It was an incredible experience to be able to drive so soon after a knee replacement. The support from the X10 health team, especially my coach, was amazing. I always felt like he was genuinely happy for my success and there to guide me. He helped me reach my range of motion goals, which were beyond what most patients achieve.
I still had physical therapy to go, but I was already better than when I started. It motivated me to want my life back. Now, I can enjoy activities like walking in nature, cooking, and even kayaking. It’s fulfilling to be able to live a life where I have the freedom to move and do the things I enjoy.
I hope that my story can help others who may be considering the same procedure.
