The World Endurance Championship, or WEC, is in its fifth season. There are nine races on three continents in the long-distance motor sports competition. It hit Germany in late July at the Nürburgring.Three vehicles take around 6 hours to complete the 5,148-kilometer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. As expected, the Porsche, Audi and Toyota hybrids jump out to early leads. Drivers need a good feel to be able to pilot the hybrid sports cars. They're only allowed to use 1.8 liters of gasoline and 1.3 kilowatts of electricity per lap.
