If your teen has developed some serious dishonesty or disrespect issues, it’s a good idea to sit down and have a conversation with him.
It won’t be an easy talk, but you’ll want to lay out what part of his behavior is coming up short and how it needs to change.
When you do, chances are your teen will point out where you’ve failed, as well. But don’t be afraid of that. In fact, why not surprise him and agree? Admitting your own wrongdoing will provide an example of humility and maturity. It’ll even help him admit he’s wrong too!
So don’t be afraid to own up to your own failures. Doing so might be the key to getting your teen’s behavior heading in the right direction.
