Adrian Bevington (@ABevington11) has built himself from the ground up, gradually establishing himself as one of sport’s governing bodies’ longest serving and respectable executives. His extensive career in football, media, and communications has gained him an invaluable perspective and knowledge of the industry, and one that we were fortunate enough to pick his brains about.
He talked to @markusfjortoft and @CiaranMcKenna8 about the deliberate strategy put in place in articulating the new-found DNA of the English national set-up, the "Golden Generation", dealing with "Brand Beckham", whether the state of football is at a vital crossroads, the values/principles that guide him, adapting to an ever-changing industry, advice for the next generation + much more!
Adrian worked for the FA for 17 years in various roles, such as: Head of Media, Director of Communications, Club England Managing Director, and been at his boyhood club Middlesbrough for two spells, first as a Senior Publications and Press Officer and then part of the Executive Management Team. He’s now an independent director at North Riding FA and also has established his own Sports & Communications Consultancy Company, consulting various prominent clients.
