When the Freeman family returns to England after ex-pat life abroad, Isabel realises her life is crying out for something more. But, after years of being defined as Neils wife, what? Despite Neils misgivings, she finds a position working for the disorganised if dangerously attractive Patrick and, although her head is telling her to think of Neil and the children, Isabel is drawn to her new boss. But if lust can turn to love, so love can become an obsession.
Isabel is thrown into a whirl of conflicting loyalties, desires, and responsibilities at whose heart lies the agonising question: can an adulterous wife be a good mother?

WHIRLWIND READ
I just finished this book and I loved it. At first I disliked Isabel for initiating the affair with Patrick while her seemingly sweet husband was clueless about it.
The portion of the affair is written in a fast, tantalizing pace. By the end of the book, you look at Isabel, Patrick and Neil in a totally different light. What will Isabel do? Find out and read the book!
Great read
I happened to love this book. I picked it up while in London and read it in about 2 days, I was totally addicted. It had a bit of a "soap opera" like plot, but it kept me reading and wanting to know what happened next. I personally enjoyed it a lot and thought it was great chick lit.
Great Read
This book is now one of my favorites, it is very real and you can't seem to put it down. The twist toward the end is great, and you can't help but smile at the end of the book. It is very easy to put yourself in Isabel's place, and you just want to see her happy. This is a great book and I recomend it to everyone...especially wives and stay-at-home moms.
Just not worth it
Possibly the worst book I have read in my life. Do yourself a favour and do not buy this book. It holds no interest whatsoever. The characters are so flimsy, the story so boring, and the writing so bad that I couldn't care less what happened to them. I had to force myself to finish it. Even by "chick lit" and "easy reading" standards it is very poor. I would give it no stars at all if I could.
Great read
The book is well organized. I found no gaps where I tried to skip. The theme was good and not what I expected from the title.
