The Pakistan Monument is located in Islamabad at the Shakarparian Hills' western viewpoint.

The monument's design is meant to limn the three territories and four provinces that make up Pakistan.

It's shaped like a flower in bloom, and the four petals depict the four provinces of Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The four flower petals that are blossoming are made of granite and represent solidarity among the Pakistani people.

Murals festoon the interior walls of the petals.

The three smaller petals are the three territories of Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

In the center of the monument is a central platform that's shaped like a five-pointed star and encircled by water.

Also around the star is a crescent moon which bears inscriptions of poetry by august Pakistani poet Allama Iqbal and sayings from Pakistan founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The monument's design also tells the Pakistan Movement's story.

From the air, the Pakistan Monument appears to be a star with a crescent moon, which is delineated by the walls that form the flower's petals.

Pakistan's flag features a crescent moon and star emblazoned on it, so the view of the monument from the air is a reference to the Pakistani flag.

Arif Masood designed the Pakistan Monument, which was envisioned by Mumtaz Mufti's son Uxi Mufti.

The Ministry of Culture undertook the task of erecting a national monument, and the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners organized a contest to select a design.

The agency asked the competitors to conceive a design that signified strength, solidarity, and the dedication of the people in turning Pakistan into an independent nation.
