Karlovy Vary jsou nejpopulárnějším lázeňským městem v České republice.

Nachází se v západních Čechách přímo u soutoku řek Teplá a Ohře.

Řeka Teplá je neobvyklá tím, že je díky mnoha horkým pramenům v okolí řekou s teplou vodou.

Jedním z nejvíce definujících rysů Karlových Var jsou horké prameny.

Je zde 13 hlavních horkých pramenů a přibližně 300 dalších menších.

Toto město je již mnoho století známou turistickou destinací. Navštívilo ho mnoho celebrit, aby zde využili lázeňskou terapii.

Karlovy Vary založil v roce 1370 římský císař Karel IV.

Carlsbad, known locally in the Czech Republic as Karlovy Vary, is the nation's most popular spa city.

It sits in the western part of Bohemia right where the Tepla and Ohre Rivers converge.

The Tepla River is unusual because it is actually a warm water river because of the many hot springs that are located in the area.

One of the most defining features of Carlsbad is its hot springs.

There are thirteen main hot springs with about 300 additional smaller ones.

The city has been a well-known tourist destination for centuries, and many celebrities are known to visit it to receive spa treatments.

Carlsbad was founded in 1370 by Roman Emperor Charles IV.

According to legend, the city was named after him after he acclaimed the hot springs and the healing power he said they contained.

A number of publications written by doctors like Josef von Loschner and David Becher led to Carlsbad becoming the popular spa resort it is today.

European aristocrats were among the first celebrities to visit Carlsbad for the supposedly healing properties of its hot springs.

Its popularity increased even further when the railway lines connecting the city to Prague and Eger were finished in 1870.

Carlsbad has always been part of Bohemia.

In 1819, the Carlsbad Decrees, which were written after a conference held there, expanded press censorship and suppressed liberalist views in the states of contemporary German confederation, whose member was also Bohemia.

It was part of Nazi Germany as of 1938 and then became again part of Czechoslovakia after World War II.
