Last Sunday, we walked through how God kept making covenant promises — from Noah and Abraham to Moses and David — and how Jeremiah, even while watching Jerusalem fall apart, insists those promises still stand. We read Jeremiah 31 and saw the promise that God would write his law on our hearts, and we remembered Jesus’ words at the Last Supper: “this cup is the new covenant in my blood.” The bottom line is this: our unfaithfulness can never nullify God’s faithfulness — Jesus is our righteous King, Priest, and the fulfillment of the covenant.
So when life looks like it's fallen apart — a marriage, a job, recovery, or fractured relationships — cling to the promises of Scripture. Don’t try to bargain for God’s favour or manufacture righteousness; rest in Jesus’ finished work, let the Spirit teach and change you from the inside, and when doubt creeps in, read Jeremiah 31 and claim the hope he promises.
