Welcome to Day 12 of Hope Has Come. Today we turn our attention to the shepherds, the first recipients of the grand announcement of Christ's birth - a choice that reveals God's heart for the ordinary and overlooked.
Our scripture today comes from Luke 2:8: "And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night."
Such a simple scene - shepherds doing what shepherds had done for centuries, watching their flocks under the stars. They weren't doing anything extraordinary. They weren't preparing for a divine encounter. They were simply being faithful in their everyday tasks when heaven broke through.
