We look at Isaiah 9:6, a prophecy written 700 years before Jesus' birth. The accuracy of this passage foretells the person and event that would come centuries later and serves as a powerful "fingerprint" of God. Only God could look upon the future and speak to it in such profound detail.The solution is a child: Isaiah tells a broken, oppressed people that the hope for the world will not be a system, a ruler, or a political ideology. The hope of the world will be a child, the Son of God in the flesh. This radical, counter-intuitive idea is proof that the Bible is God's revelation to us, not man's attempt to reach Him.
