God promised Adam that if he disobeyed, He would die. But when Adam disobeyed, he didn’t die.

Why? Because God made another promise that He would keep intact in spite of the sinful rebellion of His fallen creatures: to produce a seed - the Second Adam from above - who would bear away the sin of Adam.
