It’s a longstanding tradition in the Christian faith to encourage a gradual build-up of anticipation leading up to the celebration of Christmas. The first theme of the Advent season is “hope,” reminding us that, regardless of how thick the fog of the present may be, we can always look forward to a day when the skies will clear, knowing that God is with us in it all.
