Advent Series II | Peace invites us to rethink what peace really is through Jesus’ words in John 14:25–28. In this sermon, Koob confronts two common misunderstandings: that peace is simply the absence of conflict, and that peace is something we can create through control or self-management. Drawing from Jesus’ promise of the Helper and His gift of peace, Koob shows that true peace is not achieved but received, not produced by escaping chaos or micromanaging life, but given by Christ Himself. Jesus offers a peace the world cannot give, a peace that quiets fear and anchors troubled hearts in His presence. As we journey through Advent, we are invited to lay down self-made versions of peace and embrace the peace that comes only through surrender to Jesus, who makes us alive in Him.
