Advent has a problem! People do not like to change!

John the Baptist was called to prepare the way of the Lord. His message was one of repentance. To repent simply means "to turn" from one thing to another…to seek change.

With the majority of our preparations defined by what we have done in the past and our current culture seeking to coopt the reason we do what we do, we struggle with "changing" our version of the Christmas celebration. This is all the more reason that John's message of repentance is for us.
