Are you thinking about the current poultry shortage and wondering if there is anything you can do about it? Are you discussed with mass produced chickens and how they are treated during their short lives? Do you want to give your family a dinner you can take pride in? Great! This is the episode for you. Raising meat birds can help with all of these statements and so much more. In this episode we will cover why you would want to raise meat birds, the different breeds of chickens and their functions, and how to set yourself up for success. Whether you are getting 5 birds or 50, you'll want to listen to this episode first.
Magic water recipe:
1 quart warm water
1 tablespoon ACV
1/8 cup honey
2 cloves minced garlic
Instructions for fermenting feed:
soak regular feed for three days, strain, and feed.
I use the strained off water to start the next batch of feed. This means I only need to soak the feed for 1 day instead of three days each time.
This episode does contain sexual topics and listener discretion is advised. Beltane is coming soon and we are excited to celebrate this year. Let's talk lore, traditions, and rituals. Since it's creation, Beltane has been a day to celebrate sexuality and fertility. Come along as we talk about Maypoles and May Bushes, ritual sex, and a little bit of kitchen witchin'. The recipe below comes from Llewellyn's Sabbot Essentials Beltane book. There is also a link to purchase this book. I do not get paid for referencing this product.

This week we give you an update on our birds and the crazy weather we’ve been having. We also discuss USDA Plant Hardiness Zones. The link below will help you discover what zone you're in. We’re learning that we did not do enough research on things like frost dates and growing season. Over the next few weeks we will be adapting to new information we have found. Another topic we discuss is lunar planting. You can use the Old Farmers Almanac to help learn more about lunar planting. Please visit our social media on Instagram @witchywoodsfarm and on Facebook @witchywoodsfarming. Thanks for listening.
