Peter Freuchen was a Danish explorer, author, and anthropologist who lived from 1886 to 1957. He is best known for his expeditions to the Arctic, as well as his writings on the indigenous peoples of Greenland and the Arctic regions.

Born in Denmark, Freuchen began his career as a journalist before embarking on a series of expeditions to the Arctic. He spent years living among the Inuit people, learning their customs and language, and developing a deep respect for their way of life.
