In varying capacities, Nane was mentored by activist, singer, and actor Harry Belafonte, mentored Carmen himself, and then watched as Perez has mentored the next generation in Hernandez and more. Michelle and Ashley Monterrosa, sisters of Sean Monterrosa, murdered victim of the Vallejo Police Department earlier this Summer, joined the Advocate Daily Podcast to talk about the love they hold for their brother and the strength his memory still gives them. There have been reports in the past that Vallejo PD officers bend their badges to signify having killed someone. Where can trust be found in a community when the police department acts as a cult rather than an entity to protect and serve ALL residents?
