AEC Design Technology Edition – EP003 – Insight 360 with Stephanie Egger

Listen Later

Hello Everyone,

In this  episode Marcello is joined by Stephanie Egger of the Autodesk Computational Design Team to discuss Insight 360 and Energy Modeling.

A Bit about Stephanie…

Stephanie is passionate about reducing building energy use through education. In 2013 she co-authored and launched a series of online courses that educate the next generation of designers. These courses and related certificate programs (Autodesk Building Performance Analysis Certificate) teach architects and engineers the basics of sustainable design and building performance through simulation and analysis tools. Thousands of users internationally have registered for the courses. Stephanie pairs the creation of these educational offerings with the commitment of continuous improvement of Autodesk’s building design technology to enable designers to create sustainable and meaningful designs. At Autodesk she currently focuses on customer engagements and is committed to spreading the word about building performance analysis solutions and how to integrate them into design workflows.

Her research interests include natural ventilation, computational fluid dynamics, and occupant comfort. Stephanie has recently completed her Master of Building Science at USC. Her thesis was entitled “Airflow Investigation of Fabric Membrane Forms: A fluid dynamic analysis for thermal comfort.”

Prior to USC she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute focusing in Structures. While at RPI she also received her LEED Green Associate certification and Engineering in Training accreditation.
