Welcome to this special edition of Aerospace Live! On the show today we have two special guests. Jason Krueger CEO from StratoStar and the very special guest, Joe Kittinger.
Col Joe is the Ambassador to the Civil Air Patrols High Altitude Balloon Challenge and sponsor of the first ever Kittinger Cup.
Col Joe's initial operational assignment was in fighter aircraft, then he participated in Project Manhigh and Project Excelsior high-altitude balloon flight projects from 1956 to 1960, setting a world record for the highest skydive from a height greater than 19 miles (31 km). He was also the first man to make a solo crossing of the Atlantic Ocean in a gas balloon, and the first man to fully witness the curvature of the earth.
Kittinger served as a fighter pilot during the Vietnam War, and he achieved an aerial kill of a North Vietnamese MiG-21 jet fighter and was later shot down himself, spending 11 months as a prisoner of war in a North Vietnamese prison.
Kittinger participated in the Red Bull Stratos project as capsule communicator in 2012 at age 84, directing Felix Baumgartner on his record-breaking 24-mile (39 km) freefall from Earth's stratosphere, which broke Kittinger's own 53-year-old world record of 102,800 feet (31,300 m) set in 1959.

From Lew's site:
This is LewDix Aviation.... The home of aviation entertainment! I am a CFI/CFII and ATP rated pilot whose goal is to be the best at what I do, and have a lot of fun along the way. I thoroughly enjoy flying and instructing, which is why my videos are where you will find the most fun filled aviation content on YouTube. I originally set out to record my progress through instrument training, but as time has passed my goal has shifted. I got bored of watching flying videos that lacked any sort of personality. So I set out to inspire pilots and students by showing how much fun I have in the aviation world.

King Schools is a school that has been focused on helping pilots learn the knowledge portion of their flight, safety and equipment training. John and Martha have really been all in with the aviation community trying to drive the skills that will make pilots safer.
John and Martha founded the King Schools more than 4 and a half decades ago back in 1975 (Actually that was the year I was born). They started by giving ground schools while traveling to different cities and then moved into video production. Their usage of green screen technology was revolutionary and frankly these videos from 30 years ago can still be an inspiration to those of us involved in online training today.
Their flight instruction video’s have grown incredibly over that time and they now have self-study courses that cover pretty much all of the ratings and certificates you would likely be looking for. They have grown to more than 50 employees from their headquarters in Montgomery Field which is near San Diego California and they have their own in house digital studio.
All of this has made John and Martha two of the most recognized flight instructors in the world and for what it’s worth, it was their video series that I personally used to pass my Private, Instrument and Commercial knowledge tests. It’s also what I plan to use to help with my CFI this year.
