For those of you who know me, you can tell I'm a big fan of Project-Based Learning (PBL). What you might not know is how this passion of mine began. It was four years ago when I met an Iraqi woman and a platform to connect my students with students of the world. We all learned that prejudice and bias kept us from discovering a whole new world that was, in essence, not that different from our own. In this blog post, I tell the story of how I met my friend Afrah and how she connected with my groups and made a difference in our classes. How about trying something similar in 2021?
